I came across news of this book launch recently. The book is " The Making Of Exile" by Nandita Bhavnani. It's about the repercussions faced by Sindhis after partition.
I too felt we always focus on Hindus and Muslims whenever we speak of the aftermath of the Partition. What about Sindhis and Parsis?
One line in the news about the book launch that set me thinking-'the loss that Sindhis suffered was not only of home as a territory, but home as lifestyle and culture'. How much it must have hurt, to give up and change one's habits of dressing, food and everyday language utterances, just to 'blend' with the alien land and its hostile people
I plan to read thru' the book soon.
